The mighty Mighty Mighty's Girlie years
Like many of the UK indie guitar pop favourites of the mid-80s, Birmingham's MIGHTY MIGHTY owed more than a passing debt to Orange Juice and the Postcard Records label. The band first appeared as part of the NME/ICA Rock Week gigs and accompanying 'C86' cassette compilation. This coincided nicely with MIGHTY MIGHTY's debut single, the catchy 'Everybody Knows The Monkey', in May '86. Although this was issued on their own 'Girlie' label, it wasn't long before they were snapped up by aspiring local Chapter 22, for a string of classy pop tunes that fared well on the independent sector.

Now Vinyl Japan bring you MIGHTY MIGHTY 'The Girlie Years. A compilation of their debut singles and B sides, released on Girlie, which are all no long sold out and extremely rare, changing hands for frightening amounts of money, as well as previously unreleased gems. Get your dancing shoes on!
